Waltzer Hire

The sound of a funfair in one ride. Cars spin as they climb and fall around the track, and the music is half the attraction.

The Waltzer is the ride many people picture when they think of a British funfair. Cars travel around a rotating, undulating track while each car spins on its own mount, so riders are carried up and over the hills of the track and spun at the same time. How much the cars spin depends on where the weight sits and on the ride's own staff, which is why no two rides on a Waltzer feel quite the same.

What to expect

A Waltzer is loud in the best sense. Lighting, music and the rounding boards are part of the experience, and a well-presented Waltzer draws a crowd of onlookers as well as riders. Individual machines vary in their theming, their lighting packages and their music, and traditional and more modern presentations both exist. It is a ride for teenagers and adults first, and for families with older children.

Planning your hire

The Waltzer is a substantial ride. It travels on a large vehicle, needs a level area to be built on and room around it to be assembled, and takes time to set up and take down. Access width and turning space at the entrance to your site are worth checking early, and if you are unsure we can arrange a site visit. Rider restrictions and the space needed depend on the particular Waltzer supplied, and are confirmed in your proposal.

A Waltzer pairs naturally with dodgems for an evening event, or with a Ferris wheel and gallopers where the brief is a full traditional fair.
